IF you are a psychopathic woman reading this, then we have some good news.
Scientists have reportedly found a definitive way of identifying a female psycho – meaning you’ll know exactly how to hide your mad ways if you need to.
According to experts in New Mexico, the tell-tale sign is not a demonic butchering spree of your family and neighbours.
Nor is it secretly filming people who walk past your home and making masks of their faces to wear while eating your pets.
It is, perhaps even more shockingly, just keeping your head still while talking.
Psychologists have long known that male psychos have common non-verbal traits, including a lack of movement in their heads while conversing.
Experts have now tested that theory on 213 female inmates in prisons in the States, who were tested and ranked to see how psychopathic they were.
Head tracking technology was used to see how much they moved their bonces during interviews, and the results showed similar patterns to men in that those who moved least were more psychopathic, the Daily Mail reports.
Researchers from the University of New Mexico’s Department of Psychology in Albuquerque said: “Non-verbal behaviours represent an important, yet understudied, form of communication that may enhance our ability to detect certain forms of psychopathology, including psychopathy.
“We believe our results help identify a unique pattern of head dynamics characteristic of women scoring high on psychopathy, specifically, exhibiting more stationary head positioning during clinical interview administration.”
Scientists had previously claimed that male psychopaths outnumber their female counterparts by six to one, although that view has now been challenged by some who think the number is virtually the same.
If you are in any doubt if someone you know is a psycho, and don’t feel comfortable asking them, there are other signs to look out for.
Apparently being a bit of ‘leech’ instead of looking after themselves, having a short temper and being violent towards animals or kids when young are also useful indicators.
So don’t say we didn’t warn you…
