AS Swift Half learned to accept many moons ago, the machines are taking over and they will kill us all.
However, even in our gloomiest doomsday fears, we didn’t expect the end to be quite so nigh.
But for one man, it seems his electric car is doing all it can to show him who’s in charge now.
Poor Brian Morrison had to call 999 and crash into a police van to stop his runaway electric vehicle kidnapping him, like some evil KITT from Knight Rider.
Terrified Brian has revealed how his brand new £30,000 MG ZS EV ‘catastrophically malfunctioned’, resulting in a wild ride forcing him to run red lights and dodge roundabouts.
The 53-year-old Glaswegian claims the vehicle took him hostage as he was heading home from work one evening.

He was unable to use the brakes and resorted to calling the police who allowed the Chinese made EV to crash into the back of their van in a desperate bid to stop it.
“The car was just running away on its own, there was nothing I could do,” he said.
“When I dialled 999, they sent police to help and put some engineers on the line to try and solve the problem, and they were asking if it was a self-driving car.
“It was the first time that the call handlers had experienced the issue, and they had no idea what to do.
“So eventually three police vehicles arrived and were driving in front of me and behind me.
“I was 100% concentrating on my steering, so when a police van pulled up beside me and asked if I was Brian and if I was OK, I just yelled ‘No I’m not, I can’t stop”.’ Brian told SWNS.
After some time the police advised Brian to drive into the back of their van.
“My entire dashboard lit up with faults, and then it all went away after a second and just had a big red car symbol that said ‘drive safely, stop driving immediately’ or something.
“I came up to a roundabout, which slowed the car down to about 15mph, and the police van was waiting for me on the other side.
“I went into the back of the van while it was moving, before they put on the brakes to stop me.’
“I still have no idea what happened, but when the RAC got to me about three hours later he plugged in the car to do a diagnostic check and there were pages of faults.
“He said he had never seen anything like it, and decided he was not willing to turn the engine on to see what was wrong.”
MG Motor UK said: “We have been urgently trying to make contact with Mr Morrison so that his vehicle can be fully inspected by our engineering team. We take this matter very seriously and now that contact has been made, we will be making every effort to resolve matters quickly and comprehensively for him.”
Maybe just keep ignoring those calls Brian… no one’s ever been kidnapped by a pushbike.
