I CAN only assume the authorities, or at least one very exasperated looking Health & Safety officer, will be after 27-year-old Justin Casquejo after he posted footage of his climb to the top of the Empire State building on social media recently.
But this wasn’t his first rodeo, in 2018 the daredevil climber was sentenced to 23 days community service on charges of reckless endangerment and trespassing for climbing the World Trade Center.
The month-long punishment was obviously complete water off a duckโs back because in 2017 he was sentenced to three years of probation for climbing a 52 story condo complex.
I bet Casquejo, from Weehawken, New Jersey, was one of those toddlers youโd find covered in jam, wearing nothing but a nappy sitting proudly on top of a bookcase, the minute Dadโs back was turned to scroll through a news feed for a few minutes.
Casquejo, who has posted numerous videos of himself on top of some seriously high-rise structures around the world, found himself atop of the empire state while brandishing the American flag.
Luckily he wasnโt covered in jam or wearing a nappy.
Casquejo shared this clip of his daredevil antics on his Instagram which has since garnered over 1.2 million views. He has posted numerous videos on top of some seriously high stuff and can now tick Empire state holding an American flag off his bucket list of all the things he probably shouldnโt be climbing.
In his Instagram video heโs seen balancing on top of the buildingโs 1,454 foot spike which is situated above the buildingโs observatory platform. He then pulls out an American flag which he waves around as a drone pans around him.
Iโm not sure what impresses me more. Justinโs ability to climb the structure or his ability to add significant weight against the age-old argument that men canโt multitask.
The video clearly shows Casquejo filming himself, waving a flag, holding a selfie stick and hopefully also holding on to something. Impressive…
